Site Supervisor - Duluth, MN

Job Summary:

Site Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations and oversees PSI operations at specific site and reports directly to home office operations manager.  Provide quick responsive customer service to all clients including initial contact, follow-up, and end result.  Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.  Manages all PSI site assigned employees.  Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both the client and employees.  Coordinate necessary support services to effectively manage client site to meet and exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service.  Ensure all required reporting and contract compliance requirements are met.  Other management responsibilities as determined by the Client  and PSI.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Coordinates and executes all work orders as needed

  • Quickly adapt to change

  • Responsible for managing maintenance, general labor, scaler and janitorial employees

  • Order materials and estimate jobs

  • Pick-up and delivery of materials and supplies to sites

  • Operates company vehicle

  • Ensure all individuals are in safety compliance and adhere to safety rules and regulations.  Will work with corporate safety director and HO Operations Manager.

  • Manage the training of personnel in appropriate safe work practices for operations of tools, equipment and job tasks

  • Manage job training of existing and new hire employees using all resources available, including “Best Practices” in semi and skilled specific job tasks

  • Demonstrate leadership on the facility floor through presence, trust, integrity, and value employees

  • Assist work crews in production work as needed

  • Process weekly timesheets and work schedules

  • Conduct weekly tool box talks and team meetings as necessary

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed


Minimum requirements

  • Minimum of Associates Degrees in related field and 2-3 year’s experience or 3-6 years of equivalent experience in construction or mechanical supervision as related to job requirements in industrial setting, managing minimum of 10-20 employees

  • Mechanical or construction background

  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Basic mechanical abilities-must demonstrate such

  • Painting (industrial/offices)

  • Door repair (overhead and man-door)

  • Crate fabrication

  • Light carpentry work

  • Basic paper mill knowledge

  • Estimating jobs

  • Basic computer experience in Microsoft Office

  • Email

  • Strong time management experience required with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills required

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment with the ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, complex situations, a divers team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis

  • Previous payroll, billing, and scheduling experience preferred

Abilities required

  • Great communication skills

  • Must be able to physically tolerate higher temperatures, cold temperatures, working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather

  • Must be able to climb multiple stairs, ladders, catwalks, incline/decline conveyor walkways

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects 50/75 lbs while wearing hard hat and all required protective personal clothing and hardware


General requirements

  • Self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to work days, nights ,weekends, shut downs, and overtime if requested

  • Must pass drug test

  • Must pass criminal background check

  • Abide by Project Service Inc. Company and Employee Policy Manual

  • Follow safety and site procedures of client and Company
